North Carolina Overrides Governor Veto in Second Amendment Win

Today's a great day for gun owners in North Carolina! They done repealed them old Pistol Purchase Permit requirements that been on the books for over a century. And that ain't all, they also closed that "church carry" loophole that was keepin' law-abiding folks from protectin' themselves in places of worship that have private schools.
Now I know some of y'all might be thinkin', "Hold on there, ain't it a bad idea to have guns in churches?" But let me tell ya, it's better to have a gun and not need it, than to need it and not have it. Plus, this here repeal cuts through all that red tape and empowers members of the faith to defend themselves.
Our friends over at Gun Owners of America have been fightin' for this for a long time, and they finally got it done. Erich Pratt, GOA's Senior Vice President, says, "Our organization is dedicated to both preserving and restoring Americans' Second Amendment rights, and the repeal of these laws cuts red tape, empowers members of the faith to defend themselves, and ends a discriminatory blot from the state's history."
And let me tell ya, those GOA folks ain't the only ones celebrating. Jordan Stein, GOA's Southeast Region Director, says, "With this repeal, citizens of our state will no longer have to seek permission from local law enforcement in advance of purchasing a handgun to exercise their Second Amendment rights, and just as importantly, houses of worship will no longer remain soft targets just because they operate a school on their premises."
So there ya have it, folks. Gun Owners of America done helped North Carolina take a big step forward in protectin' our Second Amendment rights. And I reckon we can all feel a little bit safer now that we can protect ourselves and our loved ones in places of worship. Yeehaw!
